Whew! Our family got off to a rough start in the new year. It's been over 4 weeks since I came down with the worst flu bug. Hubby stopped by home to get something he needed for work, and I was good. A few hours later when he came home, I felt like I was gonna die. Not long after he fell on ice and sprained his hand, missing two days of work. The craziness didn't stop there.
Then one by one we all got sick, the boys included. Hubby ended up with pneumonia, just after he got back to work after the hand business. As I was starting to feel better, I was in the middle of job interviews and transitioning to a new job. Now, I think, we're finally, finally starting to get back to some sort of "normal" around here. Whatever normal is. Right?
It's a gorgeous day in Wisconsin today and I've been cleaning and opening some windows. At least, mentally, I'm getting past some of the last month. I opened up the Etsy shop again today and while it's pretty low inventory, I'm hoping to have some new items in there real soon.
In the meantime I've been working my way through some new wicker techniques. Last week I wove a sort of sampler basket (shown above) which I'll call "Fiesta" for now. I'm hoping to share it as a pattern in the future, with better photography of course.
I also have a 4-H family learning day class coming up where I'll be teaching an all day basketry class. In the meantime take time to enjoy life and we'll see you again soon!
